The Sheridan VFW 6390 Auxiliary recently held a Chili Cook-Off at the post at 2556 Route 20. Entries were received from members and the public and 10 pots were judged by three gentlemen chili connoisseurs with the prizes of $75, $50, and $25 going to Debra Euscher from Buffalo, first place and Crowd favorite; and Diane Skinner and her daughter Nickie, second and third places. The Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who participated, and also the area businesses who generously donated prizes for the basket raffle which was held along with the Cook-off. Proceeds go to the Sheridan Veterans, and to the Auxiliary for its ongoing support of various military, veteran, and community causes. The Sheridan VFW Auxiliary holds its meetings on the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the post. All members are encouraged to attend, and anyone interested in becoming a member who has an immediate relative that served in the military overseas during a conflict is eligible and welcome to join.
