Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Hugh Myron Smith, age 73, of Chapel Hill, NC, on January 19, 2022 at his residence. A private memorial service and interment at The Youmans Cemetery will be at a later date.
Mr. Smith was born October 6, 1948, in Swainsboro, to the late Hugh Lloyd Smith and Dessie Lee Brown Smith. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Faye Smith; nephew, John Stulce; and brother-in-law, L. J. Stulce.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Beldia Smith of High Point, NC; sisters, Irma Lee Smith Stulce of Covington and Edna Mae Smith Dixon (Bill) of Swainsboro; nieces, Valarie Milazzo (Ben) of Marco Island, FL, Melanie Hunter of Gilbert, AZ, Alicia Bannevans (Packy) of Bishop, and Edna Lynn Dixon of Statesboro; nephew, Jeff Stulce (Marie) of Marietta; several grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
