Infinix Inbook X1 Review: Suitable Choice For Value Buyers – Gadgets Now

Infinix Inbook X1 laptop is the first laptop from the company and infinix has done a pretty decent job in terms of design. The laptop sports a aluminium finish metal body. The company has managed to keep the weight of the device at 1.48 kg despite the sturdy metallic build. With the specs that it offers, the 16.3 mm slim laptop is one of the lightest models available in the market. The Infinix Inbook X1 features a simple and clean design which gives it a premium look. The laptop is offered in three colour options – Aurora Green, Noble Red and Starfall Grey. We got the device with Starfall Grey for the review.

The flap of the device gets an interesting dual tone finish. The top half of the flap gets a brushed metallic finish and the rest of the device follows a matte finish. The top half also consists of the Infinix branding. The device comes with rubber grips placed at the bottom. Coming to the ports, the Infinix Inbook X1 comes with one HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, one 3.5mm audio jack, two USB-C ports and a SDcard reader. The device features a privacy switch that turns off the mic and camera in case there are any spyware apps and software in the system.

Opening the flap of the laptop you are greeted with a device that follows a decade old design. The fat bezel at the bottom of the display is bit apparent initially but one can get used to it. One of the main highlights of the Infinix Inbook X1 is the existence of a two-level backlit keyboard on the laptop. There is no numpad on the keyboard and there are no extra keys on the keyboard. The trackpad is quite wide and responsive. It can also register clicks quite fast.

The Infinix Inbook X1 laptop features a 14-inch Full HD IPS display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. The screen packs 100% sRGB colour space and a peak brightness of 300 nits. The laptop offers a 16:9 aspect ratio. The display of the laptop is surrounded by thin bezels around and a thick bezel at the bottom. The display works quite well when it comes to day to day usage but it can be a bit strenuous while using outside. It comes with wide viewing angles.

The screen on the Infinix Inbook X1 offers accurate colour contrast and sharpness. The videos on the device don’t look washed out. The Intel UHD integrated graphics on the laptops are not suitable for heavy gaming but it does the work while using most of the apps.

The Infinix Inbook X1 comes in two variants – one is powered by 10th Generation Intel Core i3 processor and the other runs a 10th Generation Intel Core i5 processor. Both the variants pack 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The Core i3 variant offers 256GB SSD space, whereas the Core i5 packs 512GB SSD space. We didn’t notice much lag while using slightly heavy apps or playing games on the laptop. The device can handle multitasking quite fine and it does not heat up, even after long usages.

The laptop comes with a Ice Storm 1.0 cooling system that the company claims utilises military-grade air ducts. It is worth noting that even while keeping the device cool during extreme usage, the cooling fan works silently and you will barely notice it working. When it comes to the audio department, the Infinix Inbook X1 does not fail to impress. With DTS audio processing and four speakers, the device managed to offer a loud and clear sound experience on loudspeaker. The audio output was equally good on earphones.

Infinix Inbook X1 runs on Windows 11 operating system out of the box. It comes preloaded with Office 365 that reduces the effort of setting up the device. The laptop also houses a 720p webcam along with two microphones that can be pretty useful for crisp video calls.

Coming to the battery, Infinix Inbook X1 is backed by a 55Whr Li-Po battery with 65W fast charging support. The laptop comes with a USB Type C charging port that prevents you from carrying two separate chargers as you can charge the device using your phone’s charger. We were easily able to stretch the laptop throughout the day of mixed usage with single charge. The company claims that the USB Type-C fast charger requires only up to 55 minutes to charge the laptop to up to 70%. In our test, we found that claim to be true. Infinix has also added a DC charging port to the device.

Verdict

Infinix Inbook X1 can be an ideal pick if you are looking for a mid range laptop for everyday usage. With metal design, backlit keyboard, decent battery life and i5 processor at Rs 45,999 makes it a deal clincher. Although the Infinix could have done better with the thick bezel and weight distribution, the impressive design and useful features makes it a suitable choice. We have seen several smartphone manufacturers entering the laptop market in recent year and this attempt by Infinix definitely makes competition fierce.
