Through 1 Quarter
The experts predicted a victory for the Toronto Raptors, but it’s no sure thing at this point. After one quarter neither squad has the contest in the bag, but Toronto leads 32-29 over the San Antonio Spurs.
Point guard Fred VanVleet has taken over for the Raptors, currently boasting 13 points (41% of their total) along with two steals.

Current Records: San Antonio 14-21; Toronto 16-17
What to Know
The San Antonio Spurs will take on the Toronto Raptors at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday at Scotiabank Arena after having had a few days off. Toronto should still be riding high after a win, while the Spurs will be looking to right the ship.
San Antonio fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Detroit Pistons this past Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 117-116. San Antonio lost 117-116 to Detroit on a last-minute jumper from Detroit’s small forward Saddiq Bey with 0:02 left to play. Small forward Keldon Johnson wasn’t much of a difference maker for San Antonio; Johnson played for 38 minutes with 4-for-18 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Raptors had enough points to win and then some against the New York Knicks on Sunday, taking their contest 120-105. Toronto’s point guard Fred VanVleet did his thing and shot 7-for-13 from downtown and finished with 35 points, five dimes and five rebounds.
San Antonio is expected to lose this next one by 6.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 12-4 against the spread when expected to lose.
San Antonio is now 14-21 while Toronto sits at 16-17. The Raptors are 7-8 after wins this season, and the Spurs are 8-12 after losses.
