Another big day of news to get through today, the biggest being Sony giving us as first look at the PSVR 2. We’ve also got the news that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy sales have not met Square Enix’s expectations, and that Bethesda is closing its launcher and putting all of its games back on Steam. Let’s dive in.

PSVR2-1

We got a first look at Sony’s fancy new VR machine today and it looks surprisingly unchanged. However, Sony assures that there are multiple improvements to the original design, including a vent that will stop your screen from steaming up. The PSVR 2 will also be a lot lighter than the original, have a much improved headset that supports 4K HDR with headset feedback, and will only have a singular cord connecting it to the PS5. No release date was announced yet though, so we’ll have to wait until we can get our hands on it.

The Bethesda Launcher Is Closing Down

Now some news that will leave PC fans cheering as Bethesda has announced that it will be closing its launcher and moving all of its games onto Steam. Starting in April, users will be able to start migrating games and their wallet from Bethesda.net, with the launcher to shut entirely in May. However, users will still need to access Bethesda.net for mods and in-game items. Also, be aware that some games may require you to manually transfer your save files, although most will be fine.

An interesting report dropped today which claimed that Lego has signed a new partnership with publisher 2K to release a few sports-related Lego titles over the next couple of years. Two games were reported to be in development, the first being a Lego football/soccer game from LittleBigPlanet developer Sumo Digital. The second will allegedly be an open-world Lego racing game developed by WWE 2K22 developer Visual Concepts.

Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Undershot Square Enix's Expectations

Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy “Undershot” Square Enix’s Expectations

If you’ve been following the performance of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy since launch, you won’t be surprised to hear that the game hasn’t met Square Enix’s expectations. Despite critical success and Marvel branding, the title didn’t manage to draw in many players, peaking at a disappointing 11,000 concurrent players on Steam. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda claimed in an earnings call that the game “undershot” initial expectations, but refrained from providing any sales numbers.

Horizon Forbidden West Is Being Review Bombed For Some Pretty Bizarre Reasons

Finally, we have the news that Horizon Forbidden West is unfortunately being review bombed on Metacritic, but the reasons why have us all perplexed. Aloy’s appearance was the hot topic leading up to the game’s launch, with many claiming that Aloy isn’t feminine enough. These people with these ludicrous complaints have now made their way to Metacritic, leaving negative reviews simply because Guerilla decided to include a realistic woman in its video game. Weird, right?
